Jamie Morrow: Thunder Arabia Championship, Bahrain - Rounds 5 and 6 Report

UK Formula Renault racer Jamie Morrow qualified on pole for rounds 5 and 6 of the inaugural Thunder Arabia championship, held at the Bahrain GP circuit on Friday, 18th November. Due to his 'guest driver' status, Morrow started at the back of the 16 car field. However, undaunted, in race 5 he sliced through the field, setting the fastest lap in the process, to take the lead on the last lap to record a well deserved win.

In race 6, qualifying on pole, but once again starting at the back of the field, his UK ZIP race winning experience counted, as he went through the field with ease and took the lead 4 laps out from the finish, crossing the finish line with a 4 second margin, and another fastest lap under his belt. Morrow will race in rounds 7 and 8 on the 24th and 25th November, before crossing to the US in the New Year to test with championship winning team, Sam Schmidt Motorsport, in anticipation of mounting a challenge for the 2006 Infiniti Pro title.
