1Bln USD Deal for Saudi-Bahrain Power Link Won by Nexans & Prysmian

French cable maker Nexans, in partnership with Prysmian, has signed a 1 bln usd contract to supply the underwater cables for an electricity interconnection network between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, Les Echos newspaper reported, without naming its source.

The order is from the Gulf Corporation Council Interconnexion Authority, the organisation steering the project, the business daily said. Prysmian was formely known as Pirelli Cables, which was bought by Goldman Sachs from Pirelli earlier this year.
